I’ve always found joy in writing lyrics and music. For me, the lyrics usually come first. I guess it’s because, first of all, there is something I want to say. Something I reflect upon and want to share. Or a story I want to tell, based on meetings with all kinds of people, own experiences or just pure fiction. Often, it’s a mixture of everything.
Although, I’ve played the guitar since my teens, I am by no means a virtuoso. But my picking is quite proficient and my strumming steady. I truly enjoy sitting down with a guitar and craft songs, or just play my favorite music.
Until recently, most of my lyrics never got any further than to my drawer. I’ve always been too busy working, I guess.
A song-writing workshop in Nashville, led by Mary Gauthier, in 2017, changed things. It encouraged me, not only to keep on writing, but also to record my songs. They are now available on all major platforms and will be continuously featured here.
In October, 2021, my first release in German, titled "Unter den Linden", was released. It is a song I originally wrote in Swedish, now translated and re-edited into German. Both versions are featured below.
In June, 2022, "Du som visste allt", was released. It is a low-key satire in Swedish about the far-left political movement in Sweden in the seventies. Back then, a vibrant movement, predominantly led by students and intellectuals, who later often have become hard-core capitalists.
One month later, my second track of the year is released on all digital platforms. It is a love song in Swedish, dedicated to my dear wife, Cecilia. The title is "Därför", which means "that´s why" or "because" in English.
And in August, my third release of the year, an up-tempo country-rock piece in Swedish, titled "En dag på kontoret", which means "A day at the office" was released. In January, 2023 , "Vad är det som händer i livet ", a rather sad song about lifes hard choices was released.
The Southern Country Band is another dear project. Our debut single, Saloon tune, hit the airwaves on all major platforms in May. Hope you like the music and thanks for tuning in!
